Dr. Daniel Rubin
I am a Chiropractic physician who dedicates himself to treating his patients’ symptoms and physical dysfunctions. I received my B.S. Degree from University of South Florida, GO BULLS! After a time, I went onward to National University of Health Sciences in St. Pete, Florida, where I studied to become a Chiropractor Physician.
To actually meet the Doctor, I have to tell the story of how I got my start in health care. Umpteen years ago, I received a shoulder massage that was a little bit too rough, then the next day I felt a shooting pain radiating down my arm. After going to the Doctor, it looked like I was heading for surgery or pain medication and did not know what to do. My lovely wife Colleen recommended I try Chiropractic treatment. Apprehensive at first, I eventually made the appointment to see the Chiropractor. The Chiropractor adjusted the area and I did not feel immediate relief from the adjustment. After leaving the office, I noticed the pain was GONE from my arm. I went back in the office and gave the Doc a hug thinking that if I could do this to one person in my life time, just one, that I would live a happy and fulfilled life.
A few years ago I lost a very close friend of mine to the pain medication crisis going on. To me this is more than a crisis it was a wake-up call for me. She was in her early twenties and a promising student and athlete who had every opportunity in the world to achieve her dreams. All because she broke a bone then spent a month on a powerful but all too common pill. She became addicted and when she couldn’t find the pills, she found heroin. Over the next year, we watched her quickly degrade and spiral downward until she was found overdosed. This loss in my life is my primary motivator for helping guide patients along their recovery and steer them into good health.
One and a half years ago I was pushing 310 lbs. and pre diabetic. I needed to make a change. In chiropractic school, I learned about health, nutrition, and how to take care of my body. I am now 100 pounds lighter and no longer pre diabetic; all my blood levels are normalized. I am still on this journey of life long health and hopefully I can help motivate others from my successes to make positive changes in their lives. I still have a ways to go before I reach my goals, but I’m not slowing down! I seem to think I got this whole nutrition thing down now, ask me anything.
The real me
I have a very supportive family and at the core are my wife Colleen and my THREE pups Raven, Ella, and Teddy. I love Star Wars, comic book movies, high fantasy novels (Brando Sando, Pierce Brown, Tolkien, Robert Jordan.), and video games, when my wife allows me.
